How the course works

The Scuba Diver course follows a structured format, focusing on essential knowledge and in-water skills.

Learning elements

    Learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including equipment use, breathing techniques, and safety procedures.

  2. Pool Skills

    Confined water training sessions focused on core skills, buoyancy control, and comfort underwater.

  3. Open Water Dives

    Two open water training dives, allowing you to apply your skills in real-world conditions under instructor supervision.

What this certification allows

On completion, you will be certified to:

  • Dive to 12 metres*

  • Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional

  • Dive with a professional guide rather than independently

This certification can be credited in full towards the PADI Open Water Diver course at a later date.

We run courses most weeks throughout the summer season across our UK and overseas locations, allowing us to offer flexible scheduling to suit individual availability wherever possible.

The Scuba Diver course is designed as a stepping stone.

You can upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver at any time by completing the remaining theory and open water dives.

* Maximum depth and supervision requirements are subject to age, medical status, and training conditions in line with PADI standards.
