PADI Deep Diver Speciality
The PADI Deep Diver Speciality introduces you to diving beyond the standard recreational depth limits of 18 metres and teaches you how to plan and conduct dives down to 40 metres safely.
Deeper dives require different thinking. Gas management, awareness, narcosis recognition, and ascent discipline all become more important. This course builds the knowledge and control needed to enjoy deeper sites while staying calm and methodical.
You’ll learn not just how to go deeper, but how to do it properly.

Prerequisites
You must:
• Be a certified Adventure Diver with a Deep Adventure Dive, or Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Meet standard medical and fitness requirements
Minimum age: 15 years old
How the course works
The course combines knowledge development with progressively deeper training dives.
Theory & planning
Learn depth limits, narcosis awareness, gas planning, contingency procedures, and safe ascent strategies.
Practical deep dives
You will complete a series of dives increasing in depth while practising monitoring, time control, and clear decision making.
Safety procedures
Focus on buddy communication, safety stops, and managing potential depth-related problems.
