PADI Discover Scuba Diver
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is designed for anyone who has never dived before, giving you the chance to try scuba diving in a safe, supervised, and enjoyable environment.
Rather than a full course, this is a guided introduction to diving. You'll receive a brief pool or confined water session to get comfortable with the equipment and basic techniques, followed by an open water dive with your instructor by your side throughout.
No certification is awarded, but on completion you'll have your first real dive experience under your belt — and a clear pathway into the PADI Open Water Diver course should you wish to continue.
Discover Scuba Diving with In The Blue is delivered on the South Coast and Solent, with a focus on comfort, safety, and making your first dive genuinely enjoyable.

How it works
Your Discover Scuba Diving experience takes place over a single session, typically lasting two to three hours in total.
The session includes:
A pre-dive briefing covering equipment, basic skills, and what to expect
A confined water or pool session to practise the fundamental techniques
A supervised open water dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres*
Your instructor will be with you throughout, guiding and supporting you at every stage.
